Students who previously attended SJC, but who have not been enrolled for one year or more need to re-apply

We love welcoming students back to SJC, there are a few more steps to take to prepare for the first day of class. Below you'll find detailed information that will guide you through the enrollment process.  We're here for you if you have any questions. 

We encourage students to complete the steps below as soon as possible.  

Your MySJC account is your passport to campus.  You will need to be able to login to MySJC before attending new student orientation and accessing your SJC email account, accepting your financial aid, registering for classes and more, so it's important to do this as soon as possible.  

 


Login to MySJC

If you used your middle name or middle initial on your SJC application: 

UsernameFirst Initial | Middle Initial | Last Name | Last two digits of your Social Security # | @my.eatingfish.net

Password: The default password is “sjcp” then the last four digits of your SJC Student ID Number, unless you changed your password. Your password expires every 90 days.

Example: John A. Smith with a SJC ID of 000123, and last 2 digits of SSN of 12 looks like:
Username: jasmith12@my.eatingfish.net
Password: sjcp0123

Once you have your MySJC account information, you can access your SJC student email account. Your SJC student email is SJC’s official communication between students and SJC staff. Please check your email regularly.

Accessing your email

You can access your SJC Student e-mail through the MySJC or by navigating to outlook.com/my.eatingfish.net

Complete your FAFSA

To be considered for financial aid and some scholarships, you must complete the FAFSA, the Free Application for Federal Student Aid. Submit the FAFSA as soon as possible after October 1 and enter SJC's school code (002660) to ensure we receive your records. SJC will receive your FAFSA information in 6-10 business days. Additional Instructions to complete the FASFA. 

Financial aid is awarded by the Financial Aid Office but is disbursed by the Business Office.  You will receive email notification to your SJC student email of your award. You can also check your Self-Service via MySJC which is available with current information. 

Apply for scholarships

To help pay for college apply for available scholarships.

Schedule an appointment with an Academic Advisor to create an academic plan, register for courses, and sign up for New Student Orientation. Call (505) 566-3404 or email advisingcenter@eatingfish.net for an appointment.

If you have completed at least 24 college-level credit hours at SJC, you can register for classes without meeting with an advisor.

Register via Self-Service through the MySJC. When logged into MySJC, click on Student Registration in the Self-Service section. Watch the video below for step-by-step instructions to register.   • You have three options when registering for a class
    • Grade: For students who wish to earn credit towards your GPA.
    • Pass/Fail: This designates pass or fail on your transcript without affecting your GPA.  You still can earn credit.  
    • Non-Credit/Audit: This is listed as Audit. Auditing a class means to attend informally, not for academic credit. View step-by-step instructions to register to audit a class.
